He was born on Sterling Place, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. He came home one day to find his toys, the furniture, and everything his family owned out in the street, on the same block where he was born. What followed was years of bouncing between relatives, friends, and government agency support, and sleepless nights in Grand Central Station. As he tells it: “We were only without a house, never really without a home.” Then family intervened. Queens took them in, St. Albans first, then Hillside Avenue, where he went crazy in education. Queens Village is where Sweety G was born, one of the first rappers in Queens, before there was a Run-DMC. His record Ma Foom Bey became a Paradise Garage classic. He built Studio 05A, signed to Capitol Records, co-managed LL Cool J, represented more than fifty professional athletes, and founded the Book Bank Foundation to serve the lost, the lonely, and the forgotten. Today he operates as Managing Partner at RCP Venture Capital. Five decades of reinvention. One system.
