01

THE ORIGIN

Brooklyn born, Queens raised. Homeless as a teenager, sleeping in subway stations while the city slept above him. By the late seventies he was one of the first MCs out of Queens, battling across boroughs with Doug E. Fresh, Kool Moe Dee, Biz Markie, and Kurtis Blow. His style was fast, melodic, and rhythmic years before melodic rap had a name.

02

THE SOUND

Losing his grandmother broke the rhythm. He answered by teaching himself production. With Winston Jones he co-created Cultural Vibe, and Ma Foom Bey became a Paradise Garage anthem in Larry Levan’s hands, a foundation stone of house music. Capitol Records signed him. Mary Wilson hired him. Studio 05A in Queens became the room where records got made.

03

THE DEALS

He co-managed LL Cool J and walked away on principle when loyalty demanded it. Then he crossed into sports and represented more than fifty professional athletes across the NFL and boxing, moving in rooms with Bernard Hopkins and Don King. Different rooms, same job: protect the talent, structure the win.

04

THE GIVE-BACK

In 1997 he founded the Book Bank Foundation to serve the lost, the lonely, and the forgotten. Books, food, clothing, mentorship, city by city. He built it before the bestseller and serves it still as Chairman Emeritus.

05

THE NOW

Today he operates as Managing Partner at RCP Venture Capital and writes the systems down. The Rhythm of Revenue hit number one on Amazon in eight categories with a foreword by Chuck D of Public Enemy. The rhythm never changed. The rooms got bigger.
